Dr Gerald Mahon PhD
is a Biomedical Scientist in Ophthalmology (Health Professions Council registered) with over 20 years experience in ocular histology and pathology. Having started out on the early time domain OCT machines Dr Mahon has amassed considerable experience in the capture and interpretation of images generated by the OCT and fundus camera.

Dr Mahon is currently based at the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH), Belfast and provides the regional clinical service of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) located in the Ophthalmology department of the RVH.

Miss Olivia Earley, MD., FRCOphth.

Consultant Ophthalmologist and surgeon specialising in vitreoretinal disorders including age related macular degeneration ( AMD ) and diabetic retinopathy. Miss Earley is a consultant Ophthalmologist for the past 14 years and currently is based at the Mater Hospital , Belfast . She acquired her fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London in 1997. Following subspeciality training in vitreoretinal diseases she completed a retinal Fellowship at Duke University , North Carolina in 1991, and a surgical retinal fellowship at St Thomas ’ Hospital London in 1992. Her skills include vitreoretinal surgery for diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachments, laser treatment and microincisional cataract surgery. Her achievements include helping her Ophthalmic unit to receive two Charter Mark awards and she was Finalist in Hospital Doctor of the Year Award in 1999.

Ocular Imaging offers a first class digital imaging theatre with the latest equipment for visualizing and recording retinal disease. In addition Ocular Imaging has teamed up with the prestigious Ulster Independent Clinic and share their top rated facilities which include reception, waiting room, theatre and consulting rooms.
