Corneal Assessment

The RT vue can accurately assess

1. Pachymetry - High speed corneal mapping

2. Angle - Closed or open angle detection and measurement

3. Keratoconus screening

4. Corneal scarring assessment - size /depth measurement

At Ocular Imaging we can accurately map the corneal thickness of normal, post operative and opacified corneas. The RTVue possesses sufficient resolution to allow routine measurement of epithelial thickness. For refractive surgery it can be used to screen out patients with forme fruste keratoconus by detecting focal thinning.

The pachymetry map offers coverage over the central 6mm diameter and automatically calculates the minimum thickness and the central thickness averaged over a central 2mm diameter circle.

The high resolution allows us to visualize fine angle structures such as Schwalbe’s line and the trabecular meshwork. This is useful in the evaluation of angle closure glaucoma and the monitoring off treatment efficacy
